Unity Week 11/12/19

LGBTQ+ Ally Training 10 am – 12 pm |  CUE 512 and via Zoom (Provided by: GIESORC)

This interactive training is designed to give the participant an introduction to issues faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals. The training is interspersed with short video clips to illustrate specific concepts and also includes several activities that provide the participants with opportunities to work individually and in small groups to discuss new concepts and vocabulary. One activity is about conceptualizing the influences of identity, one activity focuses on vocabulary, one provides an opportunity for role playing, and another activity involves working in small groups to process scenarios.

Let’s lose ourselves in the music and find ourselves having fun while staying fit at this original dance-fitness party from Colombia! We feature various Latin rhythms and other dance styles set to high-energy international beats. Our energy levels will soar while we increase cardiovascular endurance in an effective and exhilarating workout! Free for all students, faculty, and staff.

Powwow Sweat 4 – 5 pm | Chinook 20 (Provided by Joelle Edwards & Jess Whitt with University Recreation) Developed by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, it is a fitness program with a series workout videos that uses traditional powwow dances as a way to exercise. It’s a little like Zumba but with a Native twist.
