Upcoming DVAM Events

The WSU Women’s Resource Center has shared the following events on their Upcoming Events Web Page:

  • FEMPowerment Lunch 10/6

For this series, invited speakers join us for lunch to discuss empowering topics. We’ll provide the light lunch, you provide the conversation! Our second FEMPowerment Lunch guest speaker will be Donna Arnold, of Multicultural Student Services, who will join us to talk about what it means when personal issues are political. It’s a timely conversation for many reasons – the current election cycle, but also because in October we take part in many political actions focused on issues both political and personal, including sexual and domestic violence and breast cancer awareness. Join us for this conversation as we gear up for the Week Without Violence!

    Date: 10/6/2016 12:30:00 PM | Location: Women’s Resource Center, Wilson-Short Room 8

  • Week Without Violence

From the 10th through the 14th of October, we will be observing the Week Without Violence. Our student leaders will be organizing events throughout the week. Get in touch (see the Contact Us page) if you want to be involved! Many of our partner organizations will also be busy with educational events throughout this time. If you know of one that we should add to our list, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

    Date: 10/10/2016 12:00:00 AM | Location:

  • Take Back the Night

Every year, students opposed to sexual and domestic violence take back the night with this march. We would love your help to plan it! Contact us (see the link in the sidebar) and let us know – we’ll get you in touch with the organizers. This is a very powerful event, a chance for us to make a collective statement about violence and fear. Check back for more details!
