On February 22, 2017, the federal administration withdrew previous guidelines which supported the rights of transgender students to use facilities that aligned with their gender identity. While this may have an impact at other educational institutes, WSU remains committed to supporting the rights of its students to participate in the programs and facilities which align with their gender identity. WSU also prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or sex and/or gender (Executive Policy 15).
